OUR STORY

UK Navigators came from an idea developed in New York, by the leadership of a Scout Group at a Unitarian Church in New York City.

The impetus for Navigators came from a dissatisfaction with the existing provision and its restricted access to membership.

In the USA Navigators has been growing steadily since its inception in  2003.

UDV Navigators arose when long standing Scouters left The Scout Association, but were asked by young people and parents to create an alternative..

Navigators in the UK is a loose gathering of completely autonomous groups following the Ethos of the Navigators idea.

Navigators is not in competition with anyone, it is just an alternative route to open scouting.
